Woke up this morning a little later than I would’ve have liked to but I probably needed it. After sitting with my grandparents on the porch of their gorgeous cabin, I brought out the drone. My grandfather used to work for Bell Helicopter so I knew he’d enjoy seeing this in action.
As I was navigating back down through the trees behind their cabin, I had the drone facing me. This means that “left” on the remote is going to take the drone “right”. I messed up. The drone dramatically hit a tree branch and tumbled. This was Utah all over again. Thankfully it hit branches that softened the final drop to the ground. It couldn’t have landed more perfectly though! It was ok and still functioned…whew! Seeing that I still could fly and the densely populated forest probably isn’t the best place to fly, my grandpa suggests taking me to a place called Elephant Rock. Here’s the resulting awesomeness:
Sidenote: My grandfather may be slightly better than yours
My grandfather got a hole in one about two years. Something many people strive for as a life goal!
Tonight we’re going into town to have a dinner with some of their friends! Until then I’m doing a little work.

Tonight was so much fun. I don’t think I’ve ever bar hopped with my grandparents before! Have you? Went to a place called the “Dome”, then headed to a have dinner at a great Italian restaurant called the “Wine Mine”. Great food..and wine! Afterwards we walked around town and went to stop by the restaurant where my grandfather is going to play and sing on the guitar tomorrow night. Apparently he’s known here. Anyway, tonight was a night to remember with the grandparents. I’ll be here for a few more days then I’ll be off to St. Louis, Missouri.
On our way back home the clouds performed for us…
