Sorry for the late post guys but it’s been a busy few days. I left Chicago in the morning and got to Columbus, Ohio on Monday night and stayed in a hotel after having dinner with a good friend of mine and his family. I left this afternoon (Tuesday) and got to D.C. around 20:20 EDT. Or should I say, I got to Founding Farmers at 20:20 EDT! One of my favorite restaurants in DC and they helped me create “The Dabney” drink. Here’s the video update:
“So Vaughn, what happened when you encountered the two motorcyclists??”
If you watched my IG story, you may have heard me talk about stopping at a rest stop in Pennsylvania and encountering two motorcyclists when I walked out of the convenience store. Here’s what happened…
I pulled over and after getting some snacks, came out to my car where two motorcyclists were parked when I arrived. I walk over to my car and and one of them says, “Hey man” pointing to my tire. I walk over and he continues, “You’re missing a lug nut on your wheel!” A light bulb went off. For about a week now, I’ve been feeling my car vibrate whenever I’m near 70-80 mph–slower speeds not so much. At one point in St. Louis, I pulled over and expected to see a flat tire or a huge bubble…nope. So I didn’t really pay attention to what it could’ve been. Fast forward to today, it all made sense. The tire wasn’t secured by the fifth lug nut. That could’ve been really bad. I ended up making it to DC and getting a lug nut from Advanced Auto Parts, but I’m so grateful to have met Ross and Matt (pictured below). We talked for a second and I asked if they would take a photo with me for the blog. Really nice guys from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who had just come back from Ocean City, Maryland.
Not sure what happened to that lug nut but it was great to meet these guys and share what I was doing with this trip. Both said they would follow along! Kindness. Grateful.
I’ll be in D.C. until Thursday or Friday of this week and then Southern Maryland so if anyone wants to link up or grab a book, let me know.
